The Role
The successful candidate will act as an autonomous advanced practitioner, responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive advanced assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Delivering highly specialist interventions to ensure the highest clinical care
- Taking professional accountability for clinical leadership and supervision of Occupational Therapy staff and students
- Leading the development, implementation, and delivery of Occupational Therapy services across a clinical specialty, care group, or at an NHS Lanarkshire-wide level
- Promoting evidence-informed practice through clinical audit, research, and continuous service improvement
Working pattern: Monday – Friday (days), either 4 or 5 days
In This Key Role, You Will
- Manage Occupational Therapy triage, assessment, and rehabilitation for a highly specialist caseload
- Assess capacity to engage in therapy, obtain informed consent, and operate within legal frameworks with patients
- Communicate highly sensitive diagnostic and prognostic information with:
- Patients, relatives, carers
- Other OT staff
- Multi-disciplinary team members
- External agencies
- Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and modification of specialist treatment interventions to optimise occupational performance for complex patient needs
- Apply in-depth knowledge of legislation, professional regulation, and codes of practice to:
- Develop and evaluate clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies

What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Degree-level qualification in Occupational Therapy with valid HCPC registration
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant specialty (or evidence of working towards this)
- Leadership experience at NMAHP Level 7 Advanced Practitioner per the Development Framework
- Strong evidence of highly developed leadership skills
- Postgraduate education in related disciplines
- Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence (essential for role)
