Advanced Practice Physiotherapist - Pain Team Leader

Circle Integrated Care | Greenwich

37.5 Hours | Permanent

Salary: Up to £64,500.00 per year (dependent on experience, training, and qualification)

We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Physiotherapist to lead our Physiotherapy Pain Team.


Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with complex and persistent pain conditions, including musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain.
  • Working autonomously to triage, assess, and manage patients using advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Acting as the clinical lead for pain services within the organisation, ensuring best practice and patient outcomes.
  • Providing clinical leadership through teaching, mentoring, and supervision of physiotherapists, First Contact Practitioners (FCPs), and Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APPs).
  • Collaborating with consultants, GPs, psychologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
  • Leading and participating in clinical audit, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical standards and organisational policies.

Person Specification – Essential Criteria

To fulfil this role successfully, applicants must hold:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant experience working at Advanced Practice level in MSK physiotherapy.
  • Demonstrable expertise in chronic and persistent pain management.
  • Proven leadership experience within a clinical setting.
  • Strong advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
