The Role

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a Physiotherapist with a special interest in Acute Musculoskeletal Management, based at Crosshouse Hospital, NHS Ayrshire and Arran. You would work across Trauma, Orthopaedic Services, and Unscheduled Care—playing a pivotal clinical and leadership role.

Hours & Contract Type

  • 36 hours per week
  • Permanent post

Key Requirements

  • Must possess a Diploma/MSc/BSc in Physiotherapist and be HCPC registered.
  • Advanced clinical practice in musculoskeletal assessment and management, evidenced by postgraduate training (e.g., Masters-level equivalent) or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership experience in clinical settings.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based Musculoskeletal practice.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential.

What You Will Do

  • Carry a self-generated caseload including patient diagnosis, assessment, and treatment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Unscheduled Care and Orthopaedic Services.
  • Ensure safe, effective urgent care aligned with GIRFT guidelines, including Cauda Equina Syndrome management.
  • Contribute to Clinical Governance, Clinical Effectiveness, and Research.
  • Serving as an expert resource for MSK-related critical pathways.
  • Actively participate in outpatient-delivered patient care in Ayrshire and Arran.
