Advanced Research Engineer (AI & Perception Engineer)
AI & Perception Engineer – Job Vacancy
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a passionate AI & Perception Engineer to join our growing team, where you’ll contribute to groundbreaking advancements in autonomous systems. This role combines hands-on software development and systems engineering, allowing you to work with cutting-edge technologies like LiDAR, radar, and computer vision to develop AI-driven perception solutions.
You’ll collaborate on real-world applications, shaping the intersection of software, sensors, and autonomous technology—from algorithm design to full system integration.
What You’ll Be Doing
Software & Algorithm Development
- Develop and test computer vision and image processing algorithms
- Process sensor data (LiDAR, radar, cameras) for perception tasks
- Contribute across Python, C++, and C# (WPF) for both backend systems and UI tools
- Assist with navigation algorithms and localisation data processing
- Optimise, benchmark, and document algorithms
Systems Engineering & Integration
- Assist in requirements gathering and system design
- Contribute to system architectures and integration plans
- Define data flows and interoperability between software/hardware
- Support system testing, debugging, and validation

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an experienced AI & Perception Engineer with:
Essential Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python (with preference for OpenCV)
- Experience with C# (WPF) and C++
- Solid grasp of AI/ML fundamentals and data-driven systems
- Strong mathematical foundation (linear algebra, geometry, statistics)
- Familiarity with autonomous systems and sensing technologies
- Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable development tasks
Desirable Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with LiDAR, radar, or point cloud processing
- Knowledge of ROS, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Understanding of GPS/localisation systems
- Exposure to system architecture (e.g., diagrams, COTS technologies)
