Key Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Advanced Social Work Practitioner within the Family Support & Safeguarding Team in Ashfield North, Nottinghamshire. This dynamic team comprises experienced social workers, family support staff, and specialists in domestic abuse and substance misuse. In this role, you will manage a small caseload of children facing complex family circumstances while supporting colleagues in developing their skills.

As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Caseloads: Oversee a small number of children with complex needs.
  • Supporting Colleagues: Mentor and guide staff in assessment, analysis, and risk management.
  • Supervising Staff: Provide supervision for alternatively qualified staff and apprentices.
  • Contributing to Supervision: Engage in reflective and group supervision sessions.
  • Court Work: Participate in court proceedings and pre-proceedings work.

Requirements

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need

  • A minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience in children’s social care.
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising others.
  • A strong understanding of child protection, child in need, and looked-after children processes.
  • A relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
