Children's Advanced Social Worker Vacancies – Safeguarding, Assessment & Children With Disabilities (CWD)
We are now working with Swindon Borough Council, and we are delighted to share Children's Advanced Social Worker vacancies in the following teams:
- Safeguarding Assessments
- Children In Need Assessments
- Children With Disabilities (CWD)
About the Role & Team Structure
The team is organised into 5 Professional Operational Delivery (POD) units, each overseen by:
- 5 Assistant Team Managers
- 2 Team Managers
Each POD consists of 4 Social Workers and an Assistant Team Manager, with each team member taking rotational duty once every 5 weeks.

During an assigned duty week, Social Workers manage a caseload of children who require:
- Statutory assessments
- Child protection investigations
These assessments help inform intervention plans to ensure the right support is provided at the right time.
Some children may simply need ongoing community-based support, while others may require:
- Family Intervention and Support (FISS)
- Child in Need Plans
- Child Protection Plans
The Council prioritises seamless transitions to ensure continuity of care.
