Join Our Innovative Team at Aseptic Services

This is an exciting and innovative time to join Aseptic Services at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. We offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist with a keen interest in aseptic services to join our dynamic team.

About the Role

You will work within a high-performing aseptic unit during a key phase of service development, supporting a diverse portfolio including Phase I clinical trials, gene therapies, Early Access Medicines, and compassionate use programmes. The unit operates across two cleanrooms, including a dedicated gene therapy facility, with five negative pressure isolators.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure patients have timely access to the latest oncology and haematology treatments. You will contribute to both clinical care and research, becoming an integral part of our aseptic and wider pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to all aspects of aseptic preparation under the Section 10 exemption of the Medicines Act 1968, including clinical trial products, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant practice.
  • Support the strategic development of aseptic services through service evaluation, data analysis, horizon scanning, and implementation of local and national initiatives.
  • Act as the Accountable Pharmacist when required, taking responsibility for the preparation and release of medicines in line with Section 10 of the Medicines Act 1968.
  • Contribute to the planning, design, commissioning, and operation of new aseptic facilities and upgrades to existing services.
  • Provide line management to designated staff, promoting a positive, high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure all aseptic staff are appropriately trained and competency assessed in line with local, regional, and national standards.
  • Maintain safe, efficient, and responsive services, prioritizing workload during capacity constraints and liaising effectively with clinical and operational teams.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate research and innovation within Aseptic Services, including support for clinical trials and collaborative projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
