Job Overview

Do you like the variety of clinical conditions encountered in Gastroenterology? Do you hold, or are you eligible to undertake the Independent Prescribing qualification? Do you enjoy team working?

We have an exciting opportunity available within our Pharmacy Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for a specialist clinical Pharmacist working within our Gastroenterology Service. We are looking to strengthen the medical service through the formation of a strong clinical pharmacy team at the pivotal point in the patient’s outpatient journey. We are seeking to complete this team by recruiting a motivated, innovative, clinically driven Pharmacist who wants to make a difference.

The successful applicants must be committed to delivering an excellent clinical pharmacy service built around the highest standards for our patients and will look to further educate and train our team through the development of a training programme. They will also be responsible in supporting the medicines value programme being undertaken specifically within gastroenterology.

We are happy to consider compressed working hours or part time hours for this role. The role offers excellent opportunities for development and will also involve opportunities for prescribing. Those candidates who are not currently an independent prescriber will be supported and funded to undertake the qualification. We will also support other relevant courses where possible.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
