The Vacancy
The Role
The Advanced Assembly Technician at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) will play a crucial role in the precision assembly of complex components and systems. The successful candidate will work on high-tech manufacturing projects, contributing to the development of innovative products and technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of advanced assembly techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sophisticated tools and equipment.
Main Responsibilities

Precision Assembly:
- Perform assembly tasks, including the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Follow assembly instructions and technical documentation to ensure high-quality results.

Tool and Equipment Operation:
- Operate assembly equipment and specialised tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance.

Quality Assurance:
- Identify assembly issues, suggesting corrective actions as needed to maintain product integrity.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and other technicians to solve technical challenges and optimize assembly processes.
- Provide feedback on design and assembly processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Literate to read and understand assembly documentation.

Person Specification
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- Passion and desire for an assembly role.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Proactive nature and outlook to work.
- Literate to a standard to understand written instructions.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Interview Process
