Main Responsibilities

• Support the programmes technical deliverables under guidance of programme delivery team;
• Work independently to troubleshoot and problem solve for maintenance related tasks that could impact project delivery;
• Support engineers & customer with carrying out parameter analysis;
• Use existing materials knowledge relating to powder metallurgy and ceramics to support daily operations;
• Liaise with and collaborate closely with the customer, always acting with professionalism;
• When required, operation of machinery within the workshop environment and an adaptability to learn new skills;
• Support technical liaison with customer during project delivery;
• Own career development through mentoring coaching and training courses;
• Adhere to MTC’s Health and Safety policies in full;
• Adopt the MTC Values in the workplace;
• Maintaining Health & Safety within the workplace

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

• Metallurgical prep of samples
• Mechanical testing of metallurgy samples
• Optical microscopy knowledge
• Experience of working to tight deadlines
• Experience of working with customers, ideally on commercially sensitive projects

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

• Experience of working in a production led environment
• Experience in material analysis e.g. XCT, metrology, metallurgy
• Experience in thermal spray coating and analysis
• Experience in analysis of laser processing
• Health & safety qualifications such as IOSH or willingness to undertake training
• First Aid qualified
• ABB robotic experience
• Powder handling experience
• Robot programming experience
• GOM scanning experience
