Role Description
Enjoy the opportunity to develop your skills in an exhilarating role within stunning North Wales, where you’ll live and work surrounded by beaches and mountains.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is presenting an exceptional offering for an experienced Band 7 Dietitian to fill a clinical specialist position within the Level 3 Adult Weight Management Service—covering North Wales as part of the Welsh Government Obesity Pathway.
Building on the Multi Disciplinary Weight Management team, this role demands independent clinical expertise with a focus on providing evidence-based interventions to support individuals seeking weight loss.
Key objectives include offering authority-based advice and training to nurses, allied health care professionals, students and junior colleagues, ensuring their skillset aligns with the clinical pathway priorities.
In addition to core clinical oversight, you'll contribute actively to operational services, all while maintaining your proactive involvement in the dynamic 80+ strong nutritional medicine team offering care at the acute, primary and public health levels—including student placements and supervisory support.
Welsh-language skills are welcomed but not essential. Speakers of Welsh or English are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of best practice within the Level 3 Weight Management Service across the full breadth of BCUHB.
- Work in integrated partnership with multi-agency teams and under the direction of the Service Lead.
- Act as a trusted resource and deliver specialist,-level expert training to dietetic staff, allied professionals, and students on the requirements of adults with obesity.
- Support, mentor and supervise more junior dietitian colleagues as mandated by practice standards.
- Contribute to operational and multidisciplinary team initiatives, along with supporting educational training programs that align with BCUHB’s evolving services.
- Maintain compliance with the Organisational Values and ‘Proud to Lead’ competence framework.
- Engage with the broader dietetic and clinical community, proactively advancing quality, inclusivity, and diversity as an active roster participant.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
