About Suffolk New College
Address: Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 1LT Salary: £24,810 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible Reference: 5265
Suffolk New College is looking for an Advice and Guidance Assistant (on-site) to join the Student Services Directorate, working within the Learning Curves (learning resource and study centres) at our Ipswich and Suffolk Rural campuses.
Reporting to and supported by the Advice, Guidance and Welfare Co-ordinator, as a member of the Advice, Guidance and Welfare Team, you will ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the College’s Learning Curve facilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing careers information, advice, and guidance (CIAG) to learners, helping them develop and achieve success, progression, and future employability.
- Being a dedicated, learner-focussed professional with experience working with young people.
- Demonstrating strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and commitment to supporting learners’ progress.

Responsibilities
- Deliver learner-centred CIAG, tailoring support to individual needs.
- Maintain a learner-friendly environment within study centres.
- Collaborate within the Advice, Guidance, and Welfare Team.
- Ensure compliance with CIAG policies and best practices.
Note: Flexible travel may be required for On the Coast campuses (Halesworth & Leiston).
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (equivalent Level 2 qualification accepted).
- A Level 3 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (or equivalent), or commitment to pursuing a Level 4 qualification.
