Advice Quality Consultant (file reviewer)

Department: Advice Quality

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Reporting To: Advice Quality Manager

Role Overview:

Every day, the work you do will directly influence the standard of advice delivered to firms, members, and clients across the financial services landscape.

If you’re motivated by precision, collaboration, and helping others deliver their best work, this role gives you the platform to shape outcomes that truly matter.

What you'll do

You will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality, compliant advice across a wide range of financial services products. In this role, you will:

  • Review and assess advice files using our bespoke Advice Quality system, providing clear, constructive feedback to members and clients.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Advice Quality Consultants to manage the review pipeline and meet agreed turnaround times.
  • Respond and support members and clients via phone and email, offering guidance and resolving queries with professionalism and care.
  • Liaise with technical teams to verify complex information and ensure accuracy in all advice-related outputs.
  • Manage and prioritise your own workload to meet SLAs, team targets, and quality assurance standards.
  • Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge, supporting new colleagues, and participating actively in meetings and wider business discussions.

What you'll need to succeed:

These are the essentials you’ll need to succeed:

  • Level 4 qualification, including a relevant Mortgage Qualification.
  • Strong understanding of FCA expectations and what constitutes a compliant, suitable advice file.
  • Experience in compliance, file reviewing, or advice quality (or strong transferable experience from a provider or intermediary environment).
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident user of office-based IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook and Teams.

Desirable requirements:

These aren’t required, but they’ll help you stand out:

  • Qualifications in Equity Release, Pension Transfer, or Long-Term Care (or an interest in pursuing them—we’ll support you).
  • Experience using digitised advice quality systems.
  • Broad technical and compliance knowledge gained within financial services.

A self‑motivated, pragmatic approach and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Location: This role can be located anywhere in the UK as it is fully remote.
