Assistant Retail Business Analyst – Porsche Retail Group

Supporting the global forms and spirit of Porsche, the Assistant Retail Business Analyst role is a unique stepping stone into the world of business analytics within motor retail—an ideal entry-level position for those passionate about data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

This role will see you play an active part across multiple microanalytic and executive reporting dimensions:

  • Data Insight Generation

    • Support stakeholders with key insights generated from sales, aftersales, and finance & insurance (F&I) performance.
    • Track core business metrics, including:
      • Units sold
      • Gross profit margins
      • Stock levels and inventory ageing
      • Conversion rates and efficiency metrics
  • Reporting & Presentation

    • Assist in producing dynamic dashboards, periodic reports, and effective presentations for executive and team decision-making.
    • Spot emerging trends, market risks, and business opportunities to optimise strategic alignment.
  • Perform Analytical Work Coolly

    • Collaborate closely with senior analysts and managers to explore performance drivers and underlying data narratives.
    • Conduct in-depth business reviews, including inventory assessments, ageing stock analysis, and stock optimisation initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Customer Data & Enquiries Flow Mapping

    • Support evaluation of enquiry flows, conversion rates, and customer journey analytics to identify enhancement opportunities.
    • Deploy insights to improve customer-first decisioning and operational effectiveness across sales teams.

  • Strategic Planning Support

    • Contribute to budgeting workflows, forecasting models, and target-tracking initiatives.
    • Inform iterative performance reviews to align retail plans with company-wide objectives.
  • Data Integrity & Process compliance

    • Ensure accuracy across systems, reports, and data flows, safeguarding the reliability of all analytics outputs.
    • Support troubleshooting configurations, system updates, testing, and data ISO standards compliance.
  • For Analytics Innovation

    • Provide expertise for ad-hoc analysis requests, ensuring data-backed decision-making underpins corporate strategy refinements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent (e.g. AAT Accounting Technician accreditation).
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Low-fluctuation ethos: Demonstrated high accuracy, focus on data quality, and a respect for thorough evidence.
  • Excel proficiency (mastery of formulas, pivot tables, and complex spreadhseet modelling).
  • Exposure to Power BI or basic coding (e.g. SQL, VBA) is highly valued but not mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Passion for data analysis: Understand where numbers tell the story.
  • Optimistic for professional growth: An interest in pursuing qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
  • Automotive curiosity: Passion for the Porsche brand or the wider automotive world, plus a broader preference for retail-focused companies.
  • Intrinsic motivation—ideally someone who thrives in high-energy, fast-paced collaboration settings.
