Position Overview
IEMA seeks a distinguished senior leader to serve as an Advisory Board Member (Higher Education). This senior, voluntary position involves providing strategic guidance on higher education policy, quality, innovation, and international collaboration, supporting scalable initiatives across universities and colleges in multiple regions.
The successful candidate will join a diverse, international board that influences policy development, governance, and large-scale programme delivery, contributing to IEMA’s mission of shaping the future of education.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on higher education strategy, governance, quality assurance, and institutional transformation.
- Support the development of global higher education policies and strategic initiatives that strengthen access, employability, innovation, and learner outcomes.
- Guide partnerships with universities, colleges, government agencies, accreditation and quality bodies, and industry stakeholders.
- Participate in quarterly remote advisory meetings (approx. 1-2 hours per month).
- Serve as a thought leader and ambassador for IEMA’s mission.
Candidate Requirements
- 10+ years of senior-level experience in higher education leadership, public policy, academic governance, or education strategy.
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience as a Vice-Chancellor, Deputy/Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Principal, Provost, or equivalent senior executive role within a university or college.
- Deep understanding of higher education systems, regulation and quality frameworks, institutional governance, and cross-border collaboration.
- Exceptional strategic insight, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
- Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, inclusion, student success, and innovation.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants may reside anywhere globally and must be legally authorized to volunteer in their country of residence.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
