As part of the AECOM Advisory business unit, our Strategic Procurement team recognises the critical importance of a thoroughly developed and market-tested procurement strategy—a cornerstone for project success—ensuring the appointment of the right supply chain partners into a commercially aligned relationship based on shared objectives.
We aim to be the leading provider of strategic and technical procurement advisory services in the UK and Ireland, known for excellence, innovation, and enduring client relationships. We collaborate with our clients across all sectors to develop and execute a procurement strategy that meets their defined success criteria. We are successful when our client succeeds.

What You’ll Do
As a key member of our Strategic Procurement team, you will:
- Lead or support sector-leading projects and programmes as the strategic procurement subject matter expert.
- Provide tailored procurement advice by aligning with client drivers and project success factors, then guiding them through:
- Designing the optimum delivery model
- Developing the contract strategy
- Crafting the commercial model
- Defining the route to market for their projects.
- Manage the competing procurement process, including:
- Market engagement
- Supplier shortlisting
- Tender document development
- Tender management
- Evaluation & negotiation
- Offer expertise in commercial aspects, category management, and performance management.
- Support work winning activities by contributing to proposal documentation.
- Help develop AECOM’s overall strategic procurement service offering.
- Collaborate with AECOM colleagues to deliver high-value, multi-discipline solutions for clients.

Qualifications
Essential
- Five years of post-qualification knowledge and experience, with expertise in leading the procurement of complex construction and infrastructure projects.
- Direct experience in managing the procurement lifecycle, from sourcing through to contract management.
- Proven programme and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong people skills, with experience in:
- Influencing stakeholders
- Providing trusted advisory support
- Challenging solutions tactfully
- Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and contract management.
Desirable (but not required)
- Current pursuit—or achievement of—MCIPS or MRICS accreditation.
- Awareness of procuring under UK public sector regulations, including (but not limited to):
- The Procurement Act 2023 (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of standard contracting frameworks, such as:
- NEC (New Engineering Contract)
- JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal)
- FIDIC (Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs-Conseils)
- Your message is valuable—and your experience speaks for itself.
