You will lead the Aesop Coal Drops Yard store, renowned for its immersive retail experience and V.trim concept. The ideal candidate is a dedicated Store Manager with a passion for discovery-driven retail, able to deliver outstanding performance while charting the store’s unique trajectory.
Role Overview
As Store Manager, you will drive store success through:
- Leadership & Team Development – Inspiring and guiding your team of Retail Consultants to create memorable, inclusive customer experiences that inspire returns.
- People-Performance Alignment – Ensuring a psychologically safe workspace that fosters growth and wellbeing.
- Customer-Driven Marketing – Developing and executing localised marketing strategies and building community engagement.
- Operational Excellence – Orchestrating daily team workflows, merchandising, and financial management (budgeting, clientele analysis).
- Commercial Acumen – Driving sales and profitability while maintaining retail integrity and a high standard of service.
This demands a dynamic individual ready for frontline responsibility, sensitivity to detail, and adaptability within a full-time, on-site role, including shifts at weekends.
Responsibilities

Store Management & Leadership
- Set staff schedules, conduct appraisals, and deliver coaching and opportunities for career advancement.
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, aligning solutions and actions with company values.

Customer Experience & Commerce
- Deeply listen to and engage customers, guiding them to products that resonate with their needs.
- Drive sales growth through store promotion, personalised service, and merchandising strategies.
- Uphold appointment timings and create shopping environments that are tactile and enriching.

Operational Excellence
- Optimise staff productivity, balancing customer service with efficient workflows.
- Oversee store finances, including budgeting, inventory management, and recording guest patterns.
- Ensure store cleanliness, aesthetics and technology functionality (digital display screens, checkout systems).

Marketing & Engagement
- Execute local, internal, and external marketing strategies with empathy and creativity.
- Support volunteer initiatives and community events that align with Aesop’s values.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience managing within a customer-facing retail or service environment—preferably in the "discovery-driven retail" space.
- Strong record of leadership, team coaching and commercial success—delivery against targets and providing an inclusive work environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, problem-solving ability, and merchandising expertise in luxury retail.
- Familiarity with skin care and skincare ingredients (having expertise in hair care, body care, fragrance or home is advantageous).
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and cybersecurity awareness.
Desirable
