VPG has a long history of innovation, specifically in precision foil resistors and foil strain gauges. This served as a foundation to expand into strain gauge instrumentation, load cells, transducers, weighing modules and complete systems for process control and on-board vehicle weighing.

We have a vacancy for an Aftersales Manager to play a key role in supporting our customers and providing the highest level of service possible.

The Role
The successful candidate will lead and manage our team of field-based Engineers across the UK, with full responsibility for people management and driving operational performance. The role includes reviewing and improving departmental processes and ensuring delivery against KPIs.
This position is approximately 50% field-based which includes visiting customers, Engineers and attending industry-related events.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Field Service team, including direct leadership of engineers
- Visit customers to strengthen relationships and resolve issues or complaints
- Drive service sales through promotional activities (e.g., campaigns, site visits, online offers)
- Support engineers, sales teams, and customers with technical and service-related needs
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and represent service on H&S committees
- Set service pricing policies for spares and repairs
- Define team objectives and monitor performance against KPIs
- Take full ownership of customer queries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution
- Lead training and development plans for engineers and service agents (quarterly planning)
- Oversee stock management for engineers (biannual counts)
- Manage departmental budgets (e.g., vehicles, equipment lifecycle)

Requirements
Education
- High school level English and Mathematics
Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in a customer-facing role
- Proven leadership experience
- Background in an automotive or technical/service-related environment
Technical Skills
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working with MRP systems – advantage
