Are you an experienced Chef looking for flexible work within the care sector? We are seeking reliable and compassionate Agency Chefs to support care homes by providing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

About The Role

As an Agency Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals that meet residents' dietary requirements, including specialist diets and modified-texture meals. You will work efficiently within a kitchen team while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.

We have opportunities across the North West, including Manchester, Altrincham, Wigan, Rochdale, Liverpool, Chester, and Stockport.

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, appetising meals for care home residents.
  • Cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
  • Follow IDDSI guidelines and prepare dysphagia-friendly meals where required.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
  • Manage food storage, stock rotation, and temperature records.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and care home staff.
  • Comply with all company and care home policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain:

  • Enhanced DBS Check (we can arrange this for successful applicants if required)
  • Food Safety Level 3
  • COSHH Training
  • Manual Handling Training
  • Infection Prevention & Control Training
  • Fire Safety Training
  • Health & Safety Training
  • IDDSI / Dysphagia Awareness
  • Food Allergens Awareness

Experience Required

  • Ideally a minimum of 12 months' experience working in a large kitchen environment.
  • Experience working as part of a small kitchen team.
  • Previous experience within care homes, healthcare, education, or similar catering environments is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new settings.
