Site Agent
Business Unit: 5049 - Hertfordshire Location: Stevenage
About the Role
Ringway is seeking an experienced Site Agent to support the delivery of highways maintenance and improvement schemes across Hertfordshire. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for:
- Leading site operations
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality and commercial standards
You’ll act as a visible role model for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, taking ownership of site delivery while motivating and supporting operational teams. The role involves managing complex schemes, coordinating resources, and ensuring industry and company standards are met at all times.
Duties
- Planning and sequencing works to maximise productivity and minimise disruption
- Monitoring progress against programme and resolving delivery issues proactively
- Ensuring costs are correctly allocated, value is maximised, and waste is minimised
- Liaising closely with:
- Supervisors
- Engineers
- Managers
- Commercial teams
- Undertaking and responding to safety, quality, and environmental audits
- Maintaining accurate records, site paperwork, and reporting
- Engaging professionally with:
- Clients
- Inspectors
- Members of the public
- Supporting and developing site teams, promoting positive behaviours and standards

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong background in highways maintenance or civil engineering
- Proven experience delivering schemes on site
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- The following qualifications and licences:
- CSCS Supervisor
- Street Works
- Full UK driving licence
- A flexible, resilient, and professional approach

Contract Details
- Type: Permanent
- Hours: Full Time (45 hours per week) – Monday to Friday
