Company Profile
CloudMargin is an award-winning, growth-stage FinTech company offering an innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) service. We are rapidly challenging the way financial and corporate institutions manage the collateral and risk associated with derivatives trading. We believe in offering our community an affordable, easy-to-deploy, and scalable service.
Backed by professional investment, our global team works closely across product, technology, and sales disciplines. Our flat structure and ethos of openness and communication means you’ll be engaged with everyone in the business and have the senior leadership team as one of your key stakeholders.
Primary Purpose of Role
As a senior individual contributor, you will ship production software by directing a fleet of AI coding agents under a disciplined, human-owned pipeline and build normal software components, AI, and agent capabilities into the CloudMargin product itself.
You will own outcomes end-to-end: turning designs into unambiguous, agent-executable tasks, directing agents through the build, and remaining accountable for the quality, security, and correctness of everything merged.
Core Accountabilities
This is a hands-on senior role that pairs deep software engineering with disciplined orchestration of AI coding agents. You will also build AI and agent capabilities into the CloudMargin product, and exercise the judgment that keeps consequential decisions in human hands. Your impact is measured on real product outcomes.
You will collaborate with, evangelise, and mentor members of the team on best practices of AI coding as they continue to evolve.
Experience
- 5+ years or equivalent experience in software development
- 2+ years or equivalent experience in either NodeJS (TypeScript) or Python
- 2+ years or equivalent experience with React or a similar frontend framework
- Hands-on experience shipping production code with AI coding agents or assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent)
- Experience integrating LLMs or building agentic / AI features into a product (desirable)
- Experience in a regulated or financial-services environment (desirable)
Role Scope
You will operate as an orchestrator of AI coding agents within a human-owned engineering pipeline, accountable for everything that reaches production.
The Engineering Harness
- Build and maintain the shared conventions and guardrails that make agents safe and useful: project rules (e.g. AGENTS.md), reusable skills/commands, tests, CI, and linters
- Keep the team’s single source of truth intact, with work tracked in one place rather than scattered across tools
- Improve the harness continuously so recurring failure modes are designed out, not patched over
Agent Orchestration & Delivery
- Ship production software by directing a fleet of AI coding agents, owning the merged result end-to-end
- Turn designs and decisions into structured, unambiguous tickets - clear acceptance criteria, declared dependencies, and explicit stop conditions - so agents execute consistently
- Recursively break down complex work until every task is small enough for an agent to complete without guessing

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Quality, Review & Verification
- Review and merge agent-generated code against team standards and accepted architectural decisions
- Apply strong testing discipline including TDD, plus performance and security testing, and never ship unverified output
- Treat verification, not implementation speed, as the measure of done
AI & Product Capabilities
- Build AI and agent features into the CloudMargin product: LLM integration, tool-calling, retrieval, and evaluation
- Work with model-agnostic tooling so the platform is not tied to a single AI vendor
- Help define how AI is used responsibly within a regulated financial-services product
Judgement & Governance
- Exercise sound judgment on when to delegate to an agent versus implement by hand
- Recognise when an agent has made a decision that is not authorised to make, halt it, and escalate
- Keep architecture, review, and deployment decisions under human ownership - automate execution, never automate decisions
Collaboration, Knowledge & Mentoring
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product, and tech leadership to align on the best approach to technical problems
- Document decisions and their reasoning so knowledge is explicit, shared, and durable rather than locked in one person’s head
- Mentor the team on agentic engineering practice and raise the bar on quality and verification
Skills
- Advanced modern JavaScript / TypeScript, NodeJS, and React
- Web development principles (REST, SPA…)
- Microservice architecture, AWS, and DevOps
- Orchestrating AI coding agents: task decomposition, context, and prompt engineering, defining acceptance criteria and stop conditions
- Rigorous review and verification of AI-generated code, backed by strong testing discipline (TDD, plus performance and security testing)
- Building LLM-powered features: tool-calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation / eval harnesses, and observability (desirable)
- Familiarity with model-agnostic tooling and routing, e.g. a proxy / gateway layer (desirable)
- Agile manifesto and SCRUM
- Sound judgment on when to automate execution and when to keep a human in the loop
- Proactive and collaborative “we” before “I”
- Advanced written and verbal communication
- Passion for delivering high-quality software and a positive approach to continuous improvement
