Agentic VP of Engineering

VP of Engineering – Cyber Security Engineering Hub

About the Role

RoboShadow is a fast-growing UK-based global Cyber Security startup, and we are seeking a hands-on VP of Engineering to build, scale, and lead our engineering function.

This is not a traditional corporate VP role. We seek a true player-coach: someone technically strong, commercially aware, engaged with the code, and capable of guiding developers while rolling up their sleeves.

Ideal candidates may include:

  • Head of Engineering
  • Engineering Manager
  • Principal Engineer
  • Lead Developer
  • Early-stage VP of Engineering

As VP of Engineering, you will collaborate closely with the founder, leadership team, product/ customer teams, and developers to:

  • Improve delivery efficiency
  • Strengthen the technical platform
  • Raise engineering standards
  • Shape the team as we scale

About RoboShadow

We specialise in enterprise Cyber Security technology, offering:

  • Vulnerability management
  • External attack surface discovery
  • Automated remediation
  • Device monitoring & security benchmarking
  • Compliance reporting
  • Microsoft/Azure ecosystem integrations

Current Phase: The product is live, customers are engaged, and the engineering function now requires stronger ownership, scalable delivery discipline, technical leadership, and process improvements.

Why This Role Fits You

✅ You thrive in a fast-moving startup environment ✅ You’re technically strong and enjoy architecture, code, debugging, and systems optimisation ✅ Ready to advance into a senior engineering role ✅ Understand SaaS product dynamics, the interplay between engineering, product, customers, support, and commercial teams ✅ Passionate about Cyber Security, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), automation, AI tools, and data-heavy systems ✅ Ambitious, pragmatic, and eager to take ownership ✅ Adaptable to a remote/hybrid/hands-on office model

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
