Working on strategically important National Defence Programmes, the Agile Coach / Lead Scrum Master is accountable for the effectiveness of their teams. They do this by supporting the adoption and application of lean-agile practices, both within their teams and the wider organisation, through coaching, mentoring and facilitating. Our UK Defence business is a Sovereign software and systems centre of excellence. As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. Responsibilities: Act as a servant-leader and facilitator to support teams in the day-to-day operation of their lean-agile practices and work across several teams in an advisory / coaching and assurance capacity Actively facilitate team-of-teams events (e.g. Planning Interval Planning, Continuous Improvement Workshops) and supporting activities such as roadmap development to ensure that the relevant objectives are achieved Support the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriate Support the team in identifying and tracking metrics and data to support data driven decision making Support teams or individuals to improve performance and achieve goals through training, coaching and mentoring Support the organisation with change initiatives and continuous improvement with a focus on lean-agile principles. We are looking for: Essential qualifications / experience Practical experience of servant-leadership in agile teams Thorough knowledge of lean-agile principles, practices and methods Excellent organisational and facilitation skills Adept with Jira or similar tools including data analysis Holds an advanced Scrum Master certification e.g. PSM II / III, SASM Experience of Agile Coaching or qualifications including ICP-ATF, ICP-ACC or ICE-AC Experience of and/or certification in agile-at-scale framework e.g. SAFe, LeSS, Nexus Security clearance: You must be able to gain and maintain the relevant UK Government security clearance in line with the job role (SC).
