About the Organisation
HMRC is structured into Customer Groups, all working towards a shared goal. Your role will be within our Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO), delivering tailored solutions to complex business, technical, and operational issues.
Within the Chief Engineering and Platform Office (CEPO), you’ll contribute to Enterprise Integration Services (EIS). EIS manages over a billion transactions annually, ensuring seamless connections between hundreds of HMRC services. EIS operates modern API and file transfer platforms, enabling integration between software developers and Government Departments while securely moving data across the UK and EU.

Job Title: Agile Delivery Manager
About the Role
As an Agile Delivery Manager, you’ll lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality digital products that align with user needs while driving organisational value. You’ll champion Agile practices, coach teams and stakeholders, and cultivate an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Success in this role demands a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, problem-solving agility, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Coach & Guide: Mentor teams and stakeholders in Agile and Delivery Management techniques, fostering best practices.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and drive effective delivery, while identifying and removing blockers swiftly.
- Team Leadership: Lead embedded teams across the delivery lifecycle, applying modern methodologies to ensure progress and continuous improvement.
- Cultural Advocacy: Create a culture of collaboration, transparency, self-organisation, and transparency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to align expectations and drive favourable outcomes.
- Community Engagement: Engage actively with the Agile Delivery Manager community, contributing to its evolution.
- Team Dynamics: Apply comprehensive team development techniques (forming, norming, storming) to empower high-performing teams.
Person Specification

Essential Criteria
- Proven track record of successful delivery of medium-to-large digital products
- Builds credibility as an ** veteran Agile Delivery Manager** by employing proven Agile methods effectively;
- Demonstrates event criement prioritisation, barrier removal, and stakeholder influence across complex projects;
- Works effectively within multi-disciplinary teams;
- Demonstrates strong negotiation, influencing, and coaching skills with varied stakeholders.
Location & Working Flexibility
Office Closures & Moves Our current locations are under transition in line with our strategic relocation plan. Primitive sites currently include:
- Newcastle (moving to Pilgrims Quarter after Benton Park View)
- Telford (moving to Parkside Court after Telford Plaza)

Amidst a salary of £45,544, HMRC contributes £13,194/year to the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme. The pension benefits include:
- Generous leave (starting at 25 days annually, increasing by 1 day per year up to 30).
- 28.97% matching pension contributions to Alpha pension (by salary percentage).
