Agile Project Manager - Banking Technology
A leading UK bank is seeking an Agile Project Manager / Delivery Manager to support a cross-functional technology team delivering change across credit, lending and financial crime services.
The role sits within the bank’s technology transformation function, which is responsible for delivering its modernisation and growth agenda. The wider programme includes changes to core banking capabilities delivered through a combination of third-party platforms, internally developed services and custom integrations using Java and React.
Working alongside the Product Owner and Technical Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the team delivers its agreed outcomes within committed timescales while maintaining the governance, control and reporting standards expected within a regulated banking environment.
You will combine agile delivery leadership with hands-on project management, including financial tracking, capacity planning, risk management, dependency management and governance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a multidisciplinary delivery team in delivering technology and business change across credit, lending or financial crime services.
- Manage delivery plans, budgets, capacity, milestones and progress reporting.
- Provide clear and accurate updates to the wider workstream, senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Work with the Product Owner and Technical Lead to prioritise the backlog against agreed business outcomes.
- Track delivery progress and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
- Identify and remove impediments affecting the team’s ability to deliver.
- Coordinate dependencies across internal teams, architecture, security and external technology suppliers.
- Guide the team through the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation, data migration, integration, production release and live service.
- Ensure delivery remains aligned with product strategy, technical architecture and secure-by-design principles.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across technology, business functions, risk, operations and third-party providers.
- Support agile ceremonies and encourage continuous improvement, learning and experimentation within the team.
- Balance pragmatic delivery decisions with the bank’s change governance and controls framework.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
