Sales Executive – Agricultural Machinery
Location: Designated Sales Area Reporting To: Branch & Sales Manager
Responsible for the sale of Agricultural Machinery, both new and used, alongside associated equipment within an allocated territory. You will be expected to visit customers, identify opportunities, and maximise sales performance for the department in a courteous and professional manner.
About the Role
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships within your designated area
- Act as the primary representative of the Dealership, demonstrating product expertise and brand values
- Deliver a first-class customer experience, ensuring punctual deliveries and service excellence
- Work independently under your own initiative to meet and exceed sales targets
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive institutional growth through effective sales strategies
Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Focus
- Visit customers proactively to uncover opportunities and convert leads into sales
- Develop and maintain long-term, loyal customer relationships
- Provide face-to-face and telephone-based customer service at all times
- Upsell and cross-sell additional products or services to increase revenue
Product & Brand Representation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product ranges, features, and benefits
- Represent the Dealership portfolio of brands with integrity and professionalism
- Participate in customer-focused events to promote brand visibility
- Compliance with company/commercial guidelines on promotions, pricing, and service delivery

Administrative Duties
- Ensure all administrative tasks are handled efficiently, including order processing and documentation
- Organise and develop sales presentations, proposals, or quotes where required
- Meet sales performance targets set by your direct line manager
Equipment & On-Site Responsibilities
- Competency to demonstrate equipment (where necessary) on-site to prospect or existing customers
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting tips to reinforce product value
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven sales, service, or parts experience within the agricultural sector
- Strong understanding of the Agricultural industry and associated equipment
- Ability to achieve sales targets with persistence and resilience
- Excellent phone etiquette and in-person customer engagement skills
- Target-driven mindset with proven ability to close deals and upsell
- Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision
- Must be able to influence and persuade stakeholders and customers
- Full, valid UK driving licence (essential for travel worldwide)

Desirable Traits
- Previous experience negotiating with contractors, farmers, or end-users
- Technical knowledge of Agricultural Machinery and its applications
- Experience managing customer complaints or escalation pathways
Working Arrangements
- Hours: 42.5 hrs/week: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Monday–Friday), with 1-hour unpaid lunch break
- Additional hours as required, including weekends during peak periods (e.g., harvest)
- Expected to work lead-back duties occasionally and travel as necessary
