About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking land-based education provider as a Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering. This student-focused role combines practical workshop delivery with classroom-based teaching, helping learners develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed for successful careers within the agricultural engineering sector. Based at our client's impressive facilities in the South of England, you will work closely with colleagues and industry partners, delivering engaging learning, monitoring student progress and contributing to the continuous development of high-quality programmes. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into education, full support will be provided to achieve a recognised teaching qualification where required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging theory and practical lessons using effective teaching, learning and assessment
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources aligned with curriculum and awarding body standards
  • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor learner progress to maximise achievement
  • Support students as a personal tutor, setting targets, promoting attendance, wellbeing and positive outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to quality improvement, and support internal and external verification processes
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and stakeholders to ensure the curriculum remains relevant to industry needs
  • Participate in CPD, open events, recruitment activities, and promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion

Qualifications

  • Degree or recognised qualification in Agricultural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Level 2 or above.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated practical expertise and hands-on experience in agricultural engineering
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulics and engine diagnostics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners
  • Organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities effectively
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently
  • An interest in keeping up to date with agricultural technologies and technical developments
  • Enthusiastic about learning, developing others, and delivering engaging training
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
