Agricultural Technician

The Opportunity:

This role will provide support to rural businesses and landowners, and includes a blend of administrative and technical consultant support activities with an emphasis on soil sampling and associated services.

Key elements of this role include:

  • Project management and liaising with clients to ensure an efficient, customer-focused service
  • Having attention to detail, and ability to embrace new technical IT systems and methods
  • Possessing good communication and numeracy skills
  • Managing a varied workload to include from time to time sampling of soils for nutritional, pest and disease analysis and data collection, both in office and on farm.
  • Supporting consultants in delivery of national programmes and initiatives, including the Scottish Farm Advisory Service and Whole Farm Plan

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF level 5 (or higher SCQF Level) including a strong level of numeracy or equivalent relevant experience
