Agronomist
Agronomist – Full-Time, Permanent (Home-Based)
Introduction
Frontier Agriculture is strengthening its on-Farm Frontier team and is looking to recruit an Agronomist on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a home-based role, with Sandy as the main office location. The role covers Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, and Hertfordshire.
Our Agronomists play a key role in facilitating our business on-farm by:
- Building outstanding customer relationships
- Providing a comprehensive advisory service
- Maximising crop production for the farmer
- Increasing sales for Frontier Agriculture

About You
To excel in this role, you will:
- Have practical experience in agriculture and a solid understanding of the sector
- Be BASIS qualified, with FACTS qualification preferred (not essential)
- Demonstrate ambition and resilience to develop new business and succeed in a sales-oriented role
- Have strong commercial awareness, with a proven track record in working with farmers
- Excel in customer relationship management, building professional connections with both clients and colleagues
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Display high initiative, planning and organisational skills
- Maintain a high standard of numeracy and literacy, with meticulous attention to detail
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computing
Your Responsibilities
As an Agronomist, your key duties include:
- Delivering an integrated advisory service covering Crop Production, including consultation on Crop Nutrition and Crop Protection, along with guidance on agricultural legislation
- Understanding end markets for farm outputs and advising customers on optimising crop potential to meet quality and volume standards
- Collaborating with support departments to manage orders and ensure farmers receive the requested services
- Building comprehensive knowledge of Frontier’s products and services to achieve commercial success, quality outcomes, and strong customer relationships
- Crop walking regularly to strengthen customer relationships and assess ongoing needs
- Engaging with Trials teams and Technical Support, contributing to innovations and expanding product/customer expertise
- Developing commercial acumen alongside technical knowledge by working with experienced business managers
- Identifying and cultivating new and existing customers, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration with Frontier teams
