AI Adoption Lead Cambridge to £180k

About the Role
As the AI Adoption Lead you will drive the evolution of the global developer infrastructure, enterprise tooling and AI-enabled engineering workflows, leading initiatives focused on improving developer productivity, release confidence, workflow automation and operational scalability across distributed engineering teams. The role combines platform engineering, CI/CD architecture, workflow automation and AI-first tooling, with responsibility for building intelligent systems that streamline software delivery and reduce operational overhead.
You will architect and scale build, test, and deployment pipelines, establish standards for globally used engineering tools and workflows, and drive automation across Engineering, Product and operational functions. The role also includes defining governance and guardrails for AI-enabled tooling, ensuring security, reliability and responsible adoption at scale.

This is a high-impact role suited to someone who combines strong systems engineering capability with automation expertise, operational rigor and a pragmatic approach to applying AI within enterprise engineering environments.
Location / WFH
You'll be based in the Cambridge offices that offer a wide range of facilities including subsidised onsite restaurant; you'll also have flexibility to work from home once a week.
About You
- You have experience in a senior technology role (e.g. Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Architect), with substantial ownership in platform / infrastructure, developer productivity, CI/CD, build systems, or workflow automation, including work spanning globally distributed teams and systems
- You have a strong hands-on knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Docker, Build systems (Bazel, BitBake, Yocto), Jira, Test Management systems, automation at scale
- You have strong systems thinking across security, reliability, performance and cost trade-offs
- You have experience building AI-assisted developer tooling (e.g., CI insights, test intelligence, code review automation, release risk scoring, incident copilots) and implementing evaluation / monitoring for AI systems (quality metrics, drift, offline test sets, human feedback loops)
- You have advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, you're able to influence others and drive change
