Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way organisations operate, and at The AA we are building the architecture that will power the next generation of intelligent products, services and internal capabilities.
We are looking for an experienced AI Architect who enjoys solving complex technical problems while staying close to delivery. This is a genuinely hands on role where you will design enterprise AI solutions, partner with senior stakeholders across the business and work alongside engineering teams to bring modern AI capabilities into production.
It is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping how AI is adopted across one of the UK’s most recognised brands, influencing architectural direction and collaborating with talented specialists who are passionate about delivering AI responsibly and at scale.

What will I be doing?
- Design scalable, secure and production ready AI solution architectures that align with business outcomes and enterprise standards.
- Work closely with engineering, data, product and security teams to shape and deliver modern AI and Generative AI solutions.
- Act as the technical authority for AI architecture, providing hands on guidance throughout design, build and implementation.
- Translate complex business challenges into pragmatic AI solutions that balance innovation, governance and operational resilience.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing technical decisions and helping shape the AI roadmap.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and architectural patterns, identifying opportunities to drive business value and continuous improvement.
What do I need?
- Demonstrable experience architecting enterprise scale technology solutions, with a recent focus on AI and Generative AI.
- A hands-on technical architect who enjoys remaining close to delivery and working alongside engineering teams rather than operating purely at a strategic level.
- Strong knowledge of modern AI technologies including Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation, AI agents, orchestration frameworks and cloud native architectures.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences and build strong partnerships across the organisation.
- Experience designing secure, scalable and resilient solutions within Azure, AWS or a comparable cloud environment, alongside a strong appreciation of governance and Responsible AI.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and guide multidisciplinary teams towards successful outcomes.
