AI & Automation Analyst – Legal Engineering (Junior/Entry Level) – London

This is a junior/entry-level role based in London, requiring 3 days per week in the office, with flexibility for remote/hybrid work.
About the Role
We’re recruiting a high-calibre graduate with a passion for artificial intelligence and prompt engineering to join our in-house Legal team as an AI & Automation Analyst. This role defines the emerging field of "legal engineering"—integrating AI to transform how legal teams operate. You’ll design end-to-end workflows, enhance productivity, and drive innovation across a collaborative environment.
Your work will focus on:
- Leveraging Claude, a dedicated legal AI platform.
- Connecting tools like Slack, Google Drive, Confluence, Jira, and Salesforce into seamless AI-driven workflows.
- Failing fast to refine legal automation solutions, from contract review and intake to compliance and risk tracking.

You’ll collaborate closely across the entire Legal team, including General Counsel, commercial lawyers, employment specialists, and broader risk management.
What You’ll Do
- Build and deploy AI agents to handle real-world legal tasks: contract reviews, research, policy checks, and risk assessments.
- Design, stress-test, and refine prompt chains within Claude and other tools, investigating edge cases to improve functionality.
- Engineer end-to-end AI workflows by connecting critical business tools (e.g., Slack, Jira, Salesforce) to solve daily challenges.
- Drive adoption by training lawyers, refining workflows, and ensuring solutions are deployed effectively beyond pilot phases.
- Maintain documentation (playbooks, prompt libraries, usage guides) and prepare actionable briefings for leadership decisions.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
Core Competencies
- Technical curiosity & hands-on learning: Experience experimenting with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini out of personal interest. No formal engineering background required—structured thinking and problem-solving are key.
- Builder’s mindset: High initiative, willingness to experiment by creating "messy prototypes," and following through from concept to execution.
- Empathic problem-solving: Ability to translate non-technical legal questions into actionable AI solutions, balancing creativity and pragmatism.
- Practical data skills: Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets for analysis, annotation, and process evaluation.
