AI Automation & Business Process Analyst
Term: Permanent and Full Time

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum

Operating as an Independent Connection Provider (ICP), our specialist team of electrical engineers, designers, project managers, and commissioning experts manages projects nationwide from our offices in Derby and Dumbarton.
By offering turnkey solutions from initial grid applications through to commissioning and energisation we support a wide range of sectors including renewables, residential, eMobility, and industrial and commercial markets.
Together, our integrated approach ensures reliable, efficient grid connections and infrastructure delivery, helping drive the UK’s transition to electrification.

Role Purpose
The AI Automation & Business Process Analyst will be responsible for leading the implementation and adoption of AI-driven business automation across the organisation.
Working closely with our strategic external AI partner, this individual will identify opportunities to improve business efficiency, reduce manual administration, and minimise human error through the development of AI-powered agents.
The role requires someone who enjoys understanding how businesses operate, documenting existing processes, and translating them into clear workflows that can be built into AI automations. The successful candidate will become the internal expert on AI automation, working collaboratively with teams across the business to continuously improve the way we work.

Key Responsibilities
AI Automation & Development
- Work alongside external AI partner to design, build and deploy AI agents across the business.
- Identify repetitive, manual and administrative tasks that can be automated using AI.
- Configure, test and refine AI agents to ensure reliable and accurate performance.
- Continuously monitor and improve existing automations as business needs evolve.
- Research new AI capabilities and recommend opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Business Process Analysis
- Engage with departments across the business to understand existing workflows and processes.
- Document business processes in a structured format suitable for AI automation.
- Translate operational requirements into clear specifications for AI agent development.
- Map current and future state processes to maximise efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve existing business processes.
Project Delivery
- Coordinate AI implementation projects with Relevance AI and internal stakeholders.
- Manage multiple automation projects simultaneously.
- Test AI solutions prior to deployment, ensuring outputs meet business requirements.
- Gather user feedback and continuously enhance AI solutions.
- Create documentation and best practice guides for AI-enabled processes.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Build strong relationships across all business functions.
- Promote awareness and adoption of AI tools throughout the organisation.
- Support colleagues in understanding and using AI-powered solutions.
- Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and recommend innovations that benefit the business.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and digital transformation.

Required Experience and Qualifications
- Degree qualified, or equivalent experience, preferably within Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or a related discipline (not essential).
- Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, automation and emerging technologies.
- Naturally curious with an enthusiasm for solving problems.
- Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills.
- Ability to understand business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly document workflows and requirements.
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
- Confident working independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with AI tools, automation platforms, low-code/no-code software or programming languages would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Exposure to process mapping, workflow design or project management would be beneficial.
