AI Automation Developer
Locations: London, Essex | Hybrid: 6 days a month travel to office
The Opportunity
We are looking for ambitious Automation Developers to help us transition from traditional RPA (Robotic Process Automation) techniques and replace it with smart, code-first Agentic Automations. Working alongside senior engineers, you will use Python, C# .NET, and advanced AI gateways to build autonomous agents and robust UI workflows. A core part of your day-to-day will involve using BluePrism WorkHQ to keep high-throughput transactional data moving smoothly and securely. If you want to move into modern, AI-driven software delivery, this is where you start.
What You Will Get To Do:
- I-Driven Development: Build, test, and maintain automation workflows using modern AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate software delivery and support agentic processes.
- AI & Agentic Implementation: Assist in developing and deploying AI agents and skills that connect to Large Language Models (LLMs) via the SS&C AI Gateway, coordinating them with Digital Workers.
- Modern UI Automation: Develop robust automation components targeting desktop applications using FlaUI and modern web systems using Playwright.
- Work Queue & Platform Management: Implement and configure automation queues within WorkHQ (the SS&C Blue Prism RPA and agentic platform) to manage transactional data, case locking, and exception-handling logic for hybrid workflows.
- Solution Support & Collaboration: Contribute code and configuration to end-to-end Intelligent Automation (IA) solutions, including workflows involving Blue Prism Chorus for human-in-the-loop intervention.
- Prompt Engineering: Write, test, and refine prompt structures and system instructions to ensure predictable and structured outputs from AI models.
- Standards & Governance: Follow established GIDS best practices, ensuring all code, agents, and generative AI integrations adhere to enterprise security, data privacy, and ethical guardrails.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
