Sword is a leading provider of business technology solutions within the Energy, Public and Finance Sectors, driving transformational change within our clients. We use proven technology, specialist teams and domain expertise to build solid technical foundations across platforms, data, and business applications. We have a passion for using technology to solve business problems, working in partnership with our clients to help in achieving their goals.

Sword is on an exciting growth journey, scaling our Data, Analytics, AI and Automation capabilities to meet growing demand for practical, outcome-focused transformation. As we evolve, we are investing in people who can turn innovation into real results for our customers.

This role is central to that journey. As organisations adopt AI and automation in secure, scalable, and valuable ways, we need hands-on engineers who can design and deliver solutions that improve processes, productivity, and user experience.

Working primarily across Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, and Azure services, you will support the full delivery lifecycle from discovery and build through to testing, deployment, and early-life support. You will help clients turn requirements into secure, scalable solutions that deliver measurable value.

It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real business problems with technology, working closely with clients and colleagues, and helping shape a growing capability within Sword.

About The Role

As an AI & Automation Engineer, you will deliver client solutions using Microsoft technologies, with a strong focus on Power Platform, Microsoft 365 integration, Copilot Studio, and Azure-enabled services. You will play a hands-on role in building, testing, deploying, and supporting solutions that meet client needs and align with technical and governance standards.

You will work with clients, consultants, architects, and specialists to shape requirements, support solution design, and deliver production-ready outcomes. The role suits someone who is comfortable moving between workshops, build activity, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

This role offers the chance to apply emerging AI and automation capabilities in a practical way, helping clients adopt solutions that are valuable, secure, and sustainable.

Success In This Role Will Include

  • Deliver secure, scalable automation and AI solutions into production
  • Turn business needs into practical applications, workflows, and integrations
  • Work effectively with clients and internal teams across the delivery lifecycle
  • Contribute reusable patterns, documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Support adoption and value realisation from delivered solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
