AI Consultant (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) – Financial Services Expert
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)
As one of the world’s leading digital transformation service providers, we are expanding our Data and AI Practice across Europe to meet growing client demand for advanced AI and data science solutions. We seek a Financial Services AI Consultant with deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and regulatory compliance to join our team.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will blend data science expertise, IT consulting experience, and financial services domain knowledge. In this critical role, you will partner with clients to deliver AI-powered solutions that address complex challenges such as risk modeling, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance. Your ability to innovate, drive adoption of responsible AI, and ensure transparency, accountability, and auditability will be pivotal in supporting our clients’ digital transformation journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement AI strategies for financial services, with a focus on risk, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Design and deploy AI-enabled solutions for critical use cases, including:
- Credit scoring
- Fraud detection
- Customer analytics
- Implement AI governance frameworks in alignment with Basel III, GDPR, and ethical AI practices
- Lead the deployment of MLOps pipelines to operationalise models and transition them from development to production
- Monitor model performance, addressing explainability, data drift, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate closely with risk, compliance, and legal teams to ensure alignment with regulatory standards
- Build Agentic AI solutions to enhance transparency, accountability, and auditability within financial workflows
- Communicate AI opportunities and risks effectively to stakeholders and senior executives
- Support pre-sales activities, including client presentations, demonstrations, and RFP responses
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging AI technologies

Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Ph.D. is a plus)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science or AI roles, preferably within:
- Financial services
- IT consulting for banking, insurance, or investment clients
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in AI/ML financial solutions, including:
- Credit risk modeling
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
- Fraud detection
- Algorithmic trading
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including:
- Basel III
- MiFID II
- EU AI Act
- Experience designing and implementing Agentic AI systems in regulated industries
- Strong knowledge of LLM applications in financial settings, e.g., document processing and chatbots
- Deep understanding of compliance-driven AI system design and transparency practices
- Practical grasp of MLOps principles, with experience deploying models in production
