About Brightbox
Brightbox is a global provider of on-demand technology skills. We help organisations move faster, reduce delivery risk and operate more efficiently by connecting them with pre-vetted digital, data, cloud and AI specialists through our Liquid Workforce Operating Model. We are growing 25% year on year, have just refreshed the brand and launched a new website, and are now investing in the next phase of growth. This role is a big part of that.
About the Role
This is a new kind of marketing hire, and a deliberate one. Think of it as the GTM Engineer of content. Where a GTM Engineer builds and runs the machine that turns strategy into pipeline, a Content Engineer builds and runs the machine that turns ideas into published, on-brand content at a volume and quality that used to need a whole team. You pair real editorial craft with AI-native tooling and repeatable systems, so good content ships fast, stays on message and compounds over time. You will sit in a small, AI-native growth team focused on new logo acquisition, reporting to the Head of Growth. The Head of Growth owns the growth strategy, ICP, positioning and the outbound motion, so you are not being asked to invent the strategy. You are being asked to build the content engine the strategy points at, and to make it excellent. 80% of our opportunities come from LinkedIn, so content and the personal brands of our key people are the projects that matter most. Your job is to make those brands publish consistently, make the content sharp, and wire it into a system that turns attention into engaged leads and meetings. This is a tactical content role, not a brand-awareness one. Our ICP is a defined universe of around 1,000 UK businesses, so the game is precision, not reach: content and sequences built to earn trust with specific companies and the people inside them, and to turn that trust into booked meetings. If you think in accounts, triggers and conversion rather than impressions, you will feel at home. This is a builder's role. As an early hire you will be creating systems and processes from scratch with limited guidance, shipping fast and iterating quickly. It suits someone who is energised by that, works well heads-down, and would rather build the machine than sit in meetings about it.
Our GTM Stack
We are an AI-native growth team using AI-native tools and in-house technology built with tools like Claude Code. Your day-to-day toolkit includes Claude (including Claude skills, projects and Claude Design), Microsoft Copilot, HubSpot and HeyReach, alongside the wider stack that the outbound motion runs on (Clay, Smartlead). We want someone who systemises: if it can be templated, automated or turned into a repeatable workflow, it should be. You will not just use these tools, you will build with them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What You Will Look After
- Engineering the content system: the core deliverable. Build a repeatable, AI-native production system: voice and style guides, prompt libraries, generation and editing workflows, and a clear quality bar. This lets us produce a high volume of on-brand content that never reads like it came from a machine.
- Executive brands and ghostwriting: content pillars and a consistent publishing cadence in the voice of our CEO and selected subject-matter experts. Executive brands are a core growth lever, and this content also feeds our HeyReach outbound.
- The inbound content engine: LinkedIn-first content that compounds over time, repurposed intelligently across posts, articles, email and video scripts. Own the calendar, produce the content, run the distribution.
- SEO, AEO and GEO: discoverability across the board. Website content that ranks in search, wins the answer box and voice results, and gets cited by the AI models buyers increasingly ask instead of Googling. Modern, measurable, and ours to own.
- Nurture and ABM conversion: the tactical end of the funnel. Email nurtures that convert, and account-based retargeting with custom content aimed at named companies in our ICP. Build the HubSpot workflows and segmentation behind it, and treat every sequence as a route to a booked meeting, not just an open rate.
- Measurement: instrument everything and show the line from content to engaged leads, to MQLs, to SQL. We care about pipeline, not vanity metrics.
What We Are Looking For
- An exceptional writer with real editorial taste. You can ghostwrite convincingly in more than one voice and know the difference between content that fills a calendar and content that lands. Show us your work; a portfolio tells us more than a CV.
- AI-native to the core. You are a power user of Claude (including skills, projects and Claude Design) and Copilot, and you build content systems with them rather than using them ad hoc. You are curious about how far these tools can go.
- A conversion mindset, not just a creative one. You can write email nurtures that earn replies and book meetings, you understand ABM and content-led retargeting, and you are comfortable in HubSpot building the workflows and segmentation that make it run.
- Commercial and data led. You treat content as a means to pipeline, understand who we are selling to, and measure what matters.
- Modern on discoverability. Solid SEO fundamentals and a real interest in where search is heading: answer engines (AEO) and generative AI (GEO).
- Fast, autonomous and entrepreneurial. You ship, you iterate, you figure things out, and you do your best work without an office around you.
- A note on experience: we care more about demonstrable craft, AI fluency and commercial sense than about years served or a particular job title. If you are a brilliant content operator who has leaned hard into AI, we want to hear from you.

What Success Looks Like
- A working, documented content system producing on-brand content at pace
- Executive brands publishing consistently and driving inbound conversations
- Nurture and retargeting sequences that turn engaged leads into MQLs (meetings booked), with a short, visible line to SQL
- A growing presence across SEO, AEO and GEO
- Content recognised as a key driver of new logo growth
Working Arrangement
This is a remote-first role and genuinely so. We are based in Manchester with team members across the Midlands and North of England, and we meet in person one day a month at the Manchester office. We are looking for someone in the Midlands or North of England who is happy to travel for those days. The rest of the time you will work from home, collaborating over Teams. The work itself, building and running an AI-native content engine, is deep, focused and largely independent. This role suits someone with a settled remote routine who does their best work that way: self-directed, happy with heads-down days and not reliant on an office for day-to-day contact. If you are at your best with regular in-person time and buzz around you, we would rather be upfront that this role will not give you that.
Culture and Perks
We work hard at keeping a warm, friendly culture even though most days are spent at home:
- One day a month in Manchester for the team get together, usually with a lunch out
- Quarterly get togethers: a company update followed by a meal somewhere good
- Christmas and big wins: a proper Christmas party, and a team trip away when we hit the annual growth target
- Little things in the post: our CEO sends things to people's homes through the year (hampers, treat boxes, that kind of thing)
