About the Role

This is a technical role within our AI platform team. This team sits within the Telegraph’s Emerging Technology team, where alongside our data engineering and science teams, we have successfully delivered projects using AI and ML for over 9 years.

The role will work in a cross-functional manner to deliver the technical implementations that will power the next generation of personalisation for our customers. We’re looking for someone who is excited to have a direct impact on the direction in which we take applied ML as they will be key in advancing our ML Ops platform to scale with the future ambitions of the business.

The successful candidate will have experience delivering robust serving solutions of ML models in both online and offline environments, with the ability to contribute at all stages of the delivery process. The Telegraph utilises GCP, and all infrastructure will be built on top of this platform. As such, experience working with Vertex as well as other Google products is important for success in this role.

There will be a commitment to support technical upskilling, but the role will require a driven individual that can work proactively on assigned projects. We expect our engineers to solve problems creatively and work collaboratively on data solutions that impact our customers' experiences of our products. As one of the first members of the team, self motivation will also be important to own end to end solutions.

  • Be involved in the creation of a new, bespoke AI platform that will support future AI initiatives.
  • Maintain the company’s data and ML assets at the required quality levels.

  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and methodologies and propose improvements to TMG infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain Google AI/ML products and the supporting infrastructure, for products such as Vertex AI, Gemini

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
