Job Description

At LGC, we seek an experienced and visionary AI Delivery Lead to direct our artificial intelligence and machine learning projects toward achievement! This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to lead diverse teams, be responsible for collaborator expectations, and transform sophisticated AI capabilities into real business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full delivery of AI and machine learning projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Run and mentor delivery teams, providing clear direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, risk registers, and delivery roadmaps using appropriate methodologies.
  • Engage with senior collaborators and clients to understand requirements, lead expectations, and communicate progress and outcomes.
  • Analyse project performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Coordinate prioritisation, capacity planning, and team composition to optimise project outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively, developing contingency plans and protocols for blocking issues.
  • Champion guidelines in AI delivery, governance, and ethical implementation across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure architectural decisions align with business objectives and delivery constraints.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability building within the delivery function.

Qualifications

  • Consistent track record in leading AI and machine learning projects to completion in corporate environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivery management frameworks and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
  • Strong people management and team leadership capabilities with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent collaborator management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all interpersonal levels.
  • Technical understanding of AI/ML concepts, tools, and implementation challenges.
  • Experience in budget management, resource planning, and cost control.
  • Analytical approach with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience delivering large-scale, complex AI implementations across multiple business units.
  • Vendor and third-party management experience.
  • Expertise in guiding organisational transformation and experience supporting teams through transitions.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and industry trends.
  • Experience in regulated industries or compliance-heavy environments.

Location:

This role can be based anywhere in the UK remotely, with occasional travel to our Victoria, London office.
