We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded AI Director to lead the development and implementation of artificial intelligence across our growing media, technology and data operations.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can turn AI strategy into practical systems. You will oversee AI-powered content workflows, automation, data processing, internal tools and future product development, while ensuring quality, reliability, cost efficiency and responsible use.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead the company’s AI strategy
- Oversee AI-powered editorial, automation and data workflows
- Manage the use of large language models, APIs and local AI infrastructure
- Work closely with developers to design, test and deploy AI systems
- Improve the accuracy, speed and cost efficiency of automated processes
- Establish quality controls, monitoring and governance standards
- Evaluate new models, tools and technologies
- Recruit and manage additional AI or technical team members as the company grows
- Translate commercial requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Ensure AI systems are used responsibly and transparently

What we are looking for
- Strong experience building or managing production AI systems
- Practical knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, automation and AI APIs
- Experience working with Python-based systems and modern cloud infrastructure
- Understanding of model evaluation, data quality and hallucination reduction
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Experience managing developers, technical projects or AI teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
