AI Engineer - SC Cleared

Full Time, Permanent

📍 Remote (London / remote with rare site visits)

🛡️ Public Sector Programme

Amber Labs are supporting a major UK public sector transformation programme and are looking for an SC Cleared AI Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team.

You’ll be embedded within a multi-supplier environment, working on the design and delivery of AI-powered service management capabilities using large language models via AWS Bedrock in a secure government setting.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be building real, production-facing AI solutions that support critical services.

💡 What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and building AI-driven workflows using LLMs via AWS Bedrock
  • Integrating AI capabilities into service management tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
  • Developing and refining prompt engineering approaches for use cases such as:
    • Incident triage and classification
    • Change risk assessment
    • Knowledge base generation
  • Building document ingestion and classification pipelines
  • Supporting AI-assisted migration discovery and analysis tooling
  • Contributing to PoC delivery and evolving solutions into production-grade services
  • Working within Agile teams (sprint ceremonies, demos, technical reviews)

🧠 What we’re looking for

  • Active SC Clearance (essential)
  • Experience working with LLMs in practical, delivery-focused environments
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Prompt engineering
    • RAG patterns
    • Structured output generation
  • Strong AWS experience, ideally including Bedrock or similar services
  • Solid Python engineering skills (APIs, automation, pipelines)
  • Experience integrating with tools such as Jira / Confluence
  • Understanding of IT service management concepts (incident, change, knowledge)
  • Comfortable working in Agile delivery teams

🚀 Nice to have

  • Experience with Anthropic Claude
  • Background in government or regulated environments
  • Exposure to cloud migration or application discovery programmes
  • Experience building AI-driven document processing solutions
