About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our Agentic AI Solutions team at J.P. Morgan. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying autonomous and assistive AI agents that enhance operational efficiency and streamline complex workflows across various business units. Your expertise will contribute to building scalable, safe, and reliable multi-agent systems that leverage the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate operational needs into innovative AI solutions, ensuring they deliver measurable business value. Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Proven experience in deploying agentic AI applications in production environments
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn
- Proficiency in Python programming, including writing comprehensive tests and building evaluation harnesses for agents and prompts
- Hands-on experience with popular agent frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or LangGraph
- Solid understanding of generative models—including transformers, GANs, VAEs, and diffusion models
- Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and evaluation techniques
- Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and deploy autonomous and assistive AI agents to optimize operational workflows and improve efficiency across business units
- Design and implement multi-agent systems, including defining roles, integrating tools, planning, managing memory, and orchestrating workflows using modern agent frameworks
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and semantic search functionalities utilizing vector databases, including indexing, retrieval policies, and evaluation metrics
- Build and integrate agent tools and APIs to connect AI agents with external services, databases, and internal systems, ensuring robust output parsing and error handling mechanisms
- Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques, and establish output validation and guardrails to minimize hallucinations and ensure reliability
- Design microservices-based architectures and orchestrate complex multi-step workflows, while instrumenting agents for tracing, metrics collection, and feedback loops
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design intuitive human-AI interfaces, and deliver solutions that generate measurable business impact
- Analyze operational data to enhance agent capabilities, optimize retrieval processes, and support data-driven decision-making through A/B testing and performance evaluations
- Mentor team members on best practices related to agent frameworks, large language models, safety, and ethical AI deployment
