AI Engineer (Infrastructure SRE & Automation)

We don’t just believe in better. We make it happen.

Better content. Better products. And better careers.

Working in Tech, Product or Data at Sky is about building the next and the new. From broadband to broadcast, streaming to mobile, Sky Stream to Sky Glass, we never stand still. We optimise and innovate. We turn big ideas into the products, content and services millions of people love. And we do it all right here at Sky.

Role/Team overview

We are seeking an AI Specialist to design, build, and operationalise intelligent systems that enhance Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) platforms and automate large-scale infrastructure operations. This role has a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

You will work closely with SRE, platform, and cloud engineering teams, within a global technology support organisation to embed AI-driven decision-making, predictive analytics, and autonomous remediation into infrastructure platforms.

What you’ll do

Infrastructure Automation at Scale

  • Design and deploy AI-powered automation frameworks for incident response and remediation (self-healing systems).
  • Automate repetitive operational workflows across compute, storage, and networking layers.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code ecosystems.

Data Engineering & Observability

  • Build and maintain pipelines for high-volume telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces).
  • Ensure data quality, labelling, and feature engineering for ML models.
  • Leverage observability tools to inform AI systems.

Reliability & Governance

  • Define SLIs/SLOs for AI systems embedded in infrastructure workflows.
  • Ensure robustness, explainability, and auditability of AI-driven decisions.
  • Implement feedback loops to continuously improve model performance.

AI-Driven SRE Enablement

  • Develop ML/AI models for anomaly detection, incident prediction, and root cause analysis across distributed systems.
  • Implement intelligent alerting systems to reduce noise and improve signal fidelity.
  • Build predictive reliability models (e.g., capacity forecasting, failure prediction).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
