AI Engineer (Short-Term Contract)
Position: AI Engineer (Short-Term Contract)
Duration: 3 Months Location: Canary Wharf, UK Engagement Type: Contract Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days a week)
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to support the setup, configuration, integration, and adoption of modern AI-powered developer productivity tools. The ideal candidate will have practical experience working with AI-assisted coding platforms and DevOps ecosystems, helping development teams deploy, configure, secure, and document AI solutions effectively.
This is a short-term engagement focused on enabling engineering teams to leverage AI tools efficiently while ensuring governance, security, and best practices are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and support AI-powered engineering tools across development teams.
- Assist with integration of AI coding assistants into existing development workflows and toolchains.
- Support implementation, onboarding, and troubleshooting for AI tools, including:
- Cursor
- Claude Code
- OpenAI Codex / Codex-based solutions
- GitHub Copilot
- GitHub Advanced Security
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to establish AI development best practices.
- Create technical documentation, knowledge articles, setup guides, and user training materials.
- Develop and maintain proof-of-concepts (POCs) demonstrating AI-assisted software development capabilities.
- Support governance, compliance, and security requirements for AI tool usage.
- Monitor adoption, gather feedback, and recommend process improvements.
- Provide user support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution related to AI tool deployment and usage.

Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with one or more AI developer tools, such as:
- Cursor
- Claude Code
- GitHub Copilot
- Codex
- Similar AI-assisted coding solutions
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern engineering practices.
- Experience integrating developer tools with:
- GitHub
- CI/CD pipelines
- Source control platforms
- Knowledge of GitHub Advanced Security features, including:
- Code scanning
- Secret scanning
- Dependency scanning
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying AI tools in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of:
- Azure OpenAI
- OpenAI APIs
- Anthropic Claude
- Similar AI platforms
- Understanding of application security and secure software development practices.
- Experience conducting user training sessions, workshops, or enablement programs.
- Familiarity with API integrations and automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
