AI GTM Engineer (£60-80k)
Join a startup in the hottest new role in town. At Jumpstart, we help ambitious ex consultants, bankers, and founders land roles at the UK’s most exciting VC-backed startups as a Commercial Associate or Commercial Generalist. This isn’t a standard sales roles. Startups don’t have a playbook or set way of selling to customers - you will come in and start owning deals from day one, as well as setting up and defining HOW the startup makes revenue, WHO they sell to, and working with the product team to refine WHAT they sell. This is one of the most sought after roles in startups at the moment.
Why Jumpstart? Landing a Commercial Associate role through Jumpstart means more than just a job offer: Work with high-growth, VC-backed startups - connect directly with the UK’s most exciting startups. Chat directly with founders & Commercial leads - get fast responses and direct outreach from founders who are actively hiring. 1:1 interview training & support - tailored prep with startup sales leaders so you can go into every interview with confidence. Community & mentorship - join a network of Jumpstart alumni and mentors to help you smash targets and accelerate your career once in role.
What you’ll do: While the exact role varies by startup, typical Commercial Associate responsibilities include: Owning accounts and closing deals: running outbound, demos, and closing deals with often very senior and high powered customers Being ‘entrepreneurial’ with outreach: a great CA uses thought leadership, events, precisely targeted messaging and marketing as well as traditional sales tactics to get clients interested on behalf of the startup Using data and analysis to refine decision making: in startups, there is no playbook. You will need to dig into the data, work out who is the ideal customer, and A/B test different tactics and initiatives to see what works Working with product and tech leaders: at such an early stage, a CA will be actively liaising between customers and tech teams to evolve the product in a way that suits customers Building new channels & growth initiatives: coming up with new methods and strategies to build revenue and pipeline for your startup Implement AI & automation across the stack: use agents, LLMs and automation tools to make the GTM function more effectively and improve performance

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
