About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate, Applied AI/ML Engineer, to join our Applied AI/ML team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting our clients and internal teams in building, deploying, and managing AI and machine learning models and agentic systems. Your expertise will ensure these systems operate safely, reliably, and at scale, aligning with industry best practices and firm-wide standards for responsible AI use. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging your technical acumen to develop innovative solutions that drive business value and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience supporting AI/ML product delivery, including model and agent workflows. You should have a solid understanding of observability platforms, evaluation and experimentation tools, and tracing systems tailored for AI and large language model systems. Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Ray or Spark is essential, along with strong software engineering skills encompassing clean coding practices, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and API development. Excellent communication skills are crucial to translate complex requirements into practical engineering outcomes, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers in building and deploying models and agents across various frameworks, providing guidance on selection, integration patterns, troubleshooting, and best practices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Implement and operate AI/ML observability solutions, including experimentation management, tracing, and monitoring, to enhance the quality and dependability of AI systems and agentic behaviors.
- Design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing pipelines and feature workflows utilizing distributed compute platforms such as Ray, Spark, or similar technologies.
- Leverage coding assistants and automation tools to improve engineering efficiency while maintaining high standards of code quality and robustness.
- Ensure secure deployment and access controls for AI/ML services, adhering to secure-by-design principles, environment separation, and firm guidelines for responsible AI deployment.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures to facilitate ongoing support, troubleshooting, and repeatable delivery processes.
