About The Role

We are hiring an AI Operations Manager to help drive the operational quality, reliability, and effectiveness of Storyteller’s AI tooling.

This role sits within our AI Operations function and is focused on making sure the AI tools, platforms, workflows, and configurations used across the business are well-run, dependable, and continuously improving.

AI is moving quickly, and Storyteller is moving with it. We need someone who can stay close to what is changing in the AI tooling landscape, understand what matters for our business, and help turn that understanding into practical operational improvements.

A big part of this role is making sure AI tooling is configured properly, used effectively, and operating reliably. You will work with teams who use AI tools day to day, understand where tooling is creating friction, identify what needs to change, and follow through on the detailed operational work that makes systems dependable.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants real responsibility for how AI tooling operates inside a fast-moving SaaS business. You will bring structure to messy tooling environments, improve visibility, support better standards, and help keep Storyteller in control of fast-changing AI platforms rather than reacting too late.

This is not a passive maintenance role. It is for someone who likes improving systems, raising standards, and making AI tooling genuinely work better.

About Storyteller

Storyteller is a SaaS platform used by globally recognised brands across sport, media, entertainment, and beyond.

Our platform helps companies create and deliver engaging story-style content experiences across their digital products. We work with high-profile clients, fast-moving teams, and products that are used by large audiences around the world.

We are remote-first, product-led, and highly focused on execution. We care about clear communication, strong ownership, thoughtful use of technology, and building better ways of working as we grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

AI is already an important part of how our teams operate. The AI Operations function exists to make sure our AI tooling is reliable, well-configured, secure, useful, and continuously improving. This role is central to that work.

What You Will Do

  • Take operational ownership of the configuration, reliability, and standards of Storyteller’s AI tools and AI platforms.
  • Support the AI Operations team’s response when AI tools, platforms, models, or underlying capabilities change.
  • Set, maintain, and improve operational standards for how AI tooling is configured, accessed, used, and monitored.
  • Improve visibility around AI tool configuration, platform usage, access administration, permissions, dependencies, and operational performance.
  • Identify weak, unstable, or high-friction areas in our AI tooling setup and help develop practical solutions that are durable and scalable.
  • Work with internal teams to understand where AI tooling is helping, where it is creating friction, and what needs to improve.
  • Give leadership clearer visibility on where the AI tooling stack is performing well, where it is fragile, and what platform or workflow changes are needed next.
  • Help ensure Storyteller’s AI tooling remains useful, controlled, reliable, and aligned with how the business actually works.

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience managing or improving technical platforms, ideally including AI tools, automation platforms, LLM-based tools, or AI-enabled workflows.
  • High agency and strong ownership of operational outcomes.
  • Strong technical judgment, especially around AI tools, platform configuration, workflows, permissions, integrations, APIs, and dependencies.
  • Comfort making decisions in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • The ability to prioritise trade-offs across a technical tooling stack and act decisively.
  • A track record of driving operational improvements through to completion, not just identifying or proposing them.
  • Clear, direct communication and the confidence to uphold standards.
  • Genuine interest in AI tools and a strong instinct for how quickly the AI tooling environment is changing.
  • Good judgment about when to act independently, when to ask for input, and how to translate between user needs and platform realities.
  • Energy, discipline, and follow-through to operate at pace without letting important details drift.

What Success Looks Like

  • You do not wait for problems to be assigned to you. You notice weak spots in how AI tooling is configured, used, or managed, and you help drive improvements.
  • You can look across a changing AI platform landscape, identify what matters operationally for Storyteller, and turn that into practical action.
  • You improve the way our AI tooling operates, rather than simply keeping existing tools ticking over.
  • You bring clarity to messy tooling, configuration, permission, workflow, and dependency problems.
  • You take responsibility for AI tooling outcomes and help make sure Storyteller’s AI stack remains reliable, controlled, and useful.

This Role Will Suit You If

  • You enjoy working in environments where tools, platforms, and expectations are changing quickly.
  • You like turning messy technical operations into clearer, more repeatable systems.
  • You are comfortable being judged on outcomes, not just effort or intent.
  • You can combine practical technical execution with good operational judgment.
  • You are motivated by making a company’s AI tooling materially better, more reliable, and easier to use.
  • You are happy working across both the strategic and detailed parts of AI operations.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Initial call with a member of the Recruitment team.
  • Follow-up technical exercise, which is compensated and designed to test skills relevant to the role.
  • Interview and exercise review with the hiring manager.
