AI Platform Engineer (Contract)
London (Hybrid) | Financial Services/Investment Management
Overview
Our client is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to support the design, deployment and optimisation of an enterprise AI platform used to build and orchestrate AI-powered workflows and automation. You'll work with modern AI tooling, with n8n expected to be the primary orchestration platform, helping engineering teams securely develop and deploy AI solutions across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain AI workflow automation using n8n and related platforms.
- Integrate LLMs, APIs and internal systems into scalable AI workflows.
- Develop reusable AI components and automation pipelines.
- Deploy and support AI services across cloud and containerised environments.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security and Platform teams to deliver secure, production-ready AI solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise AI platform performance.

Required Skills
- Experience building automation and integration workflows using n8n (or similar platforms such as LangFlow, Flowise, Make or Zapier).
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks and system integrations.
- Experience working with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic or similar).
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Desirable
- Experience with RAG, vector databases or AI agents.
- Exposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol) or AI orchestration frameworks.
- Experience building internal AI platforms in an enterprise environment.
- Financial services experience is beneficial.

- Initial 6-month contract (likely extension)

Rate
- £700-800 per day
