AI & Platform Engineering Lead
London (Hybrid)

UST is looking for an exceptional AI & Platform Engineering Lead to drive the evolution of our Enterprise AI Platform into a scalable, secure, cloud-native product adopted across global enterprise clients.
This is a senior hands-on leadership role for someone who combines deep engineering expertise with platform thinking, AI innovation, and commercial delivery. You'll shape the technical direction, influence product strategy, engage with clients, lead talented engineering teams, and remain close enough to the code and architecture to make critical engineering decisions.

What You'll Be Doing
- Define and lead the engineering roadmap for UST's Enterprise AI Platform.
- Transform AI and GenAI innovations into production-ready platform capabilities.
- Build scalable, secure, API-first, cloud-native solutions for enterprise adoption.
- Drive engineering excellence across architecture, DevSecOps, automation, observability, and platform reliability.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams across AI, cloud, platform, data, and software engineering.
- Partner with clients, architects, and business stakeholders to accelerate AI adoption and platform growth.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, design guidance, and engineering best practices.

What We're Looking For & Essential Experience
- Strong background in software, product, platform, or cloud engineering.
- Proven experience building and scaling enterprise platforms, SaaS products, or reusable technology solutions.
- Experience designing and delivering AI/GenAI solutions, including LLM-based applications, AI orchestration frameworks, RAG, or AI platforms.
- Expertise in Azure and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise integration.
- Strong DevSecOps mindset including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and engineering quality.
- Experience taking products or platforms from concept through to enterprise-scale adoption.
- Ability to confidently engage with senior technical stakeholders and enterprise clients.
- Hands-on technical credibility with the ability to challenge designs, guide architecture, and support complex engineering decisions.
