Software Engineer – Adaptive Defence (AI-Native Builders)
SoSafe is Europe's leading human risk management company, trusted by 6,000+ organisations to turn their people into a line of defence against cyberattacks. We've built something real, and we're nowhere near done.
About the Role
This role is on the Adaptive Defence team, SoSafe’s newest and most innovative product. Here, we build AI-native products from day zero, ship them before they’re perfect, and iterate in fast cycles. We’re not here to maintain a roadmap—we’re here to build what’s next.
With distribution, customer traction, and brand already in place, we need builders: people who’ve taken something from 0 to 1, who prototype before specifying, who use AI to move faster, and who have no tolerance for process for its own sake.
Title and years don’t decide this. What you’ve shipped does.
If you’re a builder, let’s talk.
Location: Ireland, UK, or Portugal (remote). Candidates based in Portugal can also work hybrid from our Lisbon office.
What You’ll Own
✨ Ship, Don’t Specify
- Own a product problem end to end: from framing → prototype → production.
- Move in short cycles—days and weeks, not quarters. Your output is working software in users' hands, not decks.
- Own the feedback loop: get in front of customers, learn, and ship the next version fast.
🤖 Build AI-Native
- Agentic coding and rapid prototyping are your default, not a side experiment.
- You’re a multiplier: you ship at a pace a conventional team can’t match.
- Help shape how we build with AI. This isn’t the mission—the product is.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Our tech stack: TypeScript, React, Node, AWS. We care more about how fast you ramp than what you know today.
🏆 Own the Outcome
- You own the quality bar and judgment behind what you build—not just the output.
- Make product, design, and scope calls without approval—take responsibility when you’re wrong.
- When the brief is incomplete, narrow it yourself and move.
- Your name is on what ships. You’re measured by impact, not tickets closed.
What We’re Looking For
🚀 Core Qualities
✔ You’ve built 0 to 1. You’ve taken something from nothing to shipped, and you can point to owned calls and their outcomes (founder, indie developer, or early employee—all count). ✔ You’re hungry and unafraid. New domains, new stacks, hard problems—you run at them. Ship something imperfect and learn before polishing something that won’t ship. ✔ You build AI-native. AI tools are core to your workflow, not an afterthought. You know what’s useful—scars included. Start tool-agnostic; we’ll align with the team. ✔ You keep your edge in a structured environment. You’ve operated autonomously before, understanding the difference between freedom andノdecision-making dominance.
🔥 Strong Signals We’re Interested In
You’ve:
- Prototyped and tested real user feedback in days.
- Built your own tooling/workflows to accelerate shipments (show us).
- Developed taste: a strong opinion on what great security or B2B SaaS looks like.
- Lived startup/early-stage hell where "nothing works until you make it work".
- Care about human risk & cybersecurity—not just the market demand.
